There still seems to be confusion about the HST (Harmonized Sales Tax), implemented on 1st July 2010 related to resale homes. Consumers buying resale homes DO NOT pay HST on their purchase.
Since resale housing was never subject to the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) or the federal Goods and Services Tax (GST), it continues to be exempt from the new HST.
